A Virtual Tour About
HURRICANES

Welcome
to a virtual tour about hurricanes. Included in this tour are teacher
resources, student activities, and a field trip about hurricanes.
This tour was
designed for elementary students to use. The teacher will want to
visit the Teacher Resources section
before using the tour. This section includes some basic information
about hurricanes. The teacher may want to go over some of the vocabulary
with students before allowing them to take the tour. Also included
in the section is a hurricane art activity for students to do. There is
also a quiz that you and you students might want to take after you have
completed all of the activities. Also in this section you will find
another hurricane tour. This tour is for intermediate grades.
There
is also a Student Activitiessection.
This section includes a worksheet for students to complete while taking
the tour. Students can also look up interesting hurricane facts by
using the trivia section.
The Field
Trip allows students to investigate the various
aspects of hurricanes. Some of the topics included in the tour are:
weather instruments, hurricane names, and notes from a family who survived
a hurricane.
