The
student is to learn about different games children of Native American Tribes
play by traveling around the United States. Upon arriving at each
color coded state, the student will play a game native to that tribe.
The games are hands-on and are to be available to a group of students in
the classroom. At each icon, directions, history, and rules of the
game are explained. This is a teacher directed activity for students
in grades
1-2 and/or those with limited reading skills.
1. To
aquaint the students with the map of the US.
2. To develop an awareness
of the compass rose.
3. To follow directions
in completing a game for and
Indian region using listening skills, colors, icons, and
sequential order.
4. To work
in a group in taking turns and keeping score.
5. To use
basic addition of facts not to exceed ten.
6. To strengthen
fine motor skills in the hand
to complete the tasks.
7. To use
the field trip information in the month of
November.
