Native American Homes Answer Key Below are suggested answers for each of the questions.
1. Native Americans used natural resources that were
around them to make their homes. For example, if
they lived in the forest, they would use wood for their
homes.2. The Eastern Woodland longhouse and the Northwest
wooden lodges are alike because each is rectangular
with a barrel shaped roof and could be covered by
bark sewn together. They are also similiar because
the homes were shared by many families.3. The Southwest homes are like the apartment buildings
we have today.4. In order to construct a tepee, a Native American
would have to follow these directions. First, fasten
the long wooden poles together at the top. Then
spread the poles out to form a circle. After that,
cover the tepee form with animal skins and then
fasten them to the ground.
