Let's Take a Learning Trip About Earthquakes
An earthquake is a sudden, rapid shaking of the Earth caused by the release of energy stored in the rocks. Some earthquakes are so small that they can not be felt by humans. Others have caused great destruction, many deaths, and injuries.
Look at an Earthquake by clicking on the picture and scrolling down to "What Causes Earthquakes?"
Geologists use a seismograph to record an earthquake's activity. Click on the seismograph to see more earthquake activity.
Post Field Trip
Click on the seismograph for your paper activity.
If you have completed your paper activity, you may click on the next two seismographs to read what some other children wrote about earthquakes.
