Student Task

You are assigned to work in pairs to research a political leader that includes background biographical and historical information on the leader of choice and illustrates whether his/her attributes contributed to effective or ineffective leadership.  You and your partner will then create a Power Point demonstration that will present your findings to the class.

Your presentation will include the following:
A.  Title slide- Includes the title of your presentation, the names of you and your partner as presenters, and graphics.
B.  Biographical information-  Includes basic personal information about the person
C.  Political information- Includes his/her rise to power in an historical context and highlights of his/her political career,including beneficial/detrimental effects of his/her leadership
D. Evaluation- Concludes, based on information gathered in your research, whether your person is/was an effective leader
E. Works Cited-Includes sources used in your research as well as sources for your graphics if they are copyrighted, arranged according to MLA format
F.  Graphics- Includes pictures, paintings, photos, clip art to enhance the visual appeal of your information

You also will submit to your teacher one copy of a picture of your leader without any caption or name identifier. The picture should be on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and should utilize the entire sheet.  This picture will be used for a post-presentation activity.
